My next trailer I picked to evaluate was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". This movie is about a man called Peter who is in a relationship with a famous T.V star. She breaks up with him and Peter goes into a depression. He decides to take a vacation to Hawaii. When he gets there he finds out that his room is right near his Ex-girlfriends room who is now dating a famous rock singer Alvis Snow. The story then goes on how he tries to avoid her but he keeps bumping into her while at the same time he falls in love with a beautiful girl who works at the reception desk played by the beautiful Mila Kunis.
In the few opening shots the story is told through captions which dictate the story. There is no voice over apart from the actors talking about the next few scenes. These voice overs provide the story line for the trailer. Its a very colourful trailer which goes very nicely with the theme of the movie which is relaxing in Hawaii. The editing in the trailer is pretty average as the tranistion is moderate. This provides a basic story line for the audience to understand. Also there is a soundtrack in the background which keeps playing which is relaxing and funky to again show that the audience is getting involved in a holiday movie.
Most of the captions that signify the trailer pose a question to get the audience thinking about what is going to happen next. This is a great way of keep the audience guessing about the movie.
What I feel about this trailer is great is that it relates to our plans of a comic love story that involves two males over one female and how they go about solving there own problems. This trailer makes our storyline seem doable apart from the obvious facts of being in Hawaii.
We feel that we can produce a similar storyline in the confounds of our school area. This could be extremely successful.
